What Foods to Avoid with Rheumatoid Arthritis

For those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, a change of diet can greatly reduce their symptoms. Different foods add to the inflammation of the joints, causing limited mobility and joint pain. Avoiding these foods can reduce the inflammation of the joints and help reduce the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Foods to Avoid:
Dairy Products: These includes all dairy products, including milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream

Refined Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners: These include all processed sugars, including white, brown, corn syrup, confectioner’s sugar, processed sugars, and chemically created or altered sugar substitutes.

Caffeine: Caffeine is found in many products including tea, coffee, soda, energy drinks, chocolate, some ice creams, and some medicines.

Salt: All salt should be reduced, but table salt should be avoided.

Gluten: Gluten is found in most grains, including, wheat, barley, and rye. Alternatives to these are rice and corn products.
