4 Super Nutrients that Slim You Down

Monounsaturated Fats

Adding more monounsaturated fats in your daily diet can help you shed pounds by shuttling excess fat away from your waistline. A 2007 research published in the Diabetes Care journal revealed that people under a diet plan high in monounsaturated fat lost more fat from their stomach compared to other diet plans [1].

During the research, participants followed a diet plan very similar to a Mediterranean diet where the majority of the fats came from extra virgin olive oil, which is high in monounsaturated fat.

Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA)

Docosahexaenoic acid is one of the two omega-3 fatty acids found in fish like salmon.According to a research published in the Journal of Nutrition, DHA may stop the growth of young fat cells and causes them to die. Research has shown that DHA is associated with reduced belly fat accumulation [2] and lower levels of leptin (the hormone that regulates your energy level).

Acetic Acid

Vinegar, a diluted form of acetic acid, has strong glucose-lowering effects. One study [3] found that vinegar may reduce the post-meal blood glucose levels. Maintaining blood glucose levels remains an essential component to weight loss.

Fiber

Fiber is generally considered being a powerful nutrient to lose weight because it slows digestion, allowing for sustained energy and stable blood glucose. However fiber can also optimize hormones that are responsible for feelings of hunger and satiety.
