Please Your Cravings, Boost Your Metabolism and Shed Pounds Like Crazy

Let’s face it; overeating, hidden sugar, and stress–can impede your liver’s natural ability to detox.

Relax. Negative thoughts won’t help you to get back on track.

Many factors affect your metabolism and how to gain fat. Some, such as genetics, are outside of your control. But others, including diet, are.

Fortunately, research shows that taking just a couple of small changes at time is the best way to get lasting results.

You don’t have to give up the foods you love. You can eat your comfort foods and have a skinny waist by enjoying them in sensible portions.

Here are 3 smart ways to supercharge your diet, boost your metabolism!

BOOST METABOLISM IN THE MORNING

Starting your day with a breakfast of lean protein will help you burn more calories. But it’s not necessary to get it in before you’re even fully awake.

Eggs are inexpensive, versatile, and have been proven to aid weight loss. Eggs are an excellent source of easily digested protein that is quickly absorbed and used by the body, even more than meat.

Hint: Boost your fiber intake by tossing in 1/2 cup of chopped red peppers to your scrambled eggs. You’ll get more than 100% of your daily vitamin C needs.

SNACK TO REDUCE BELLY FAT

A study published in the journal Hepatology showed that people who eat more frequently may increase their belly fat more than people who ate less often.

What you eat counts more than when you eat it. Focus on three main meals and a snack.

Hint: Take a slice of toasted sourdough bread, slather it with natural peanut butter, and top with sliced banana and a drizzle of melted dark chocolate (80% cocoa). This is our favorite daily snack to trick a sweet tooth.

BOOST YOUR METABOLISM FROM THE NIGHTTIME

Believe it or not, the right kind of nighttime carbs can lead to daytime weight loss.

In one study, people consuming most of their carbs in the evening showed a marked increase in thermogenesis the next day. This means they burned more calories digesting the food they ate during the day.

A similar study in the journal Obesity had similar results, with those consuming their carbs at night losing 27% more body fat, and feeling more than 13% more full, than a control group consuming a more standard diet.

Hint: Go ahead and enjoy this pizza sandwich for dinner. Take half of a 100% whole-grain sandwich thin with melted low-fat mozzarella, tomato sauce, balsamic vinegar, avocado, and basil…it’s fantastic!
