Directions
- When the water is rolling boil, add salt.
- Add all the pasta to the boiling water at once
- Cover the pot to make it boiling as soon as possible.
- Stir it often with a wooden spoon to prevent sticking.
- One minute or so before the stated time (see the pasta package), check the pasta to see how chewy it is.
- When the pasta is ready drain it immediately without rinsing.
Tips and Tricks
- Proportions: 1 quart of water for 3 ounces of pasta and about 1 teaspoon of salt per every quart of water
- Use a big pot
- Add salt when the water is rolling boil
- Keep the pasta completely submerged in boiling water
Doing so you can be sure to stay on weight and keep its nutrient intact.

You can also cook pasta in the microwave.
Some people don’t like microwave cooking, however with pasta the microwaves are heating the water which is then boiling the pasta in the usual way, so the result is the same and there is less washing up.
I do all my pasta in the microwave nowadays.
