[video] Benefits of extra virgin olive oil on health… they say is not good for your health. What?!

in Mediterranean Food, Miscellaneous

In this video I’ve found in Youtube the author say:

Many people believe that the olive oil in the Mediterranean Diet is part of what makes it healthy. Wrong! The diet is healthier than the standard American diet because it contains more fruits and vegetables, period. Substituting olive oil for the fats found in most American diets is healthier, but if your object is to avoid heart disease, avoid olive oil.

I’ve never heard something more stupid in my all life…Everybody know that the Med diet has an higher calories intake in respect to the other diets.

This higher calorie is due to the presence of Olive oil. It’s made for 100% by fat. But it’s not “bad” fat…it’s a vegetable fat called:”monounsaturated

Olive oil has a lot of benefits:

  • Lower blood cholesterol
  • Helps people suffering from constipation
  • It’s a source of natural antioxidants (called polyphenols) which help to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer
  • Helps your skin

I could stay hours and hours writing about health benefits of Olive Oils…have a look on what I’ve found only with a simple search on Google:

Awesome..not?

You notice that he does not mention the results of the other diets?! Atkins, South Beach….!!
I don’t think of this as a diet either. It’s a lifestyle. Olive oil is monounsaturated fat, which is a good thing. The only good point he made was that the American diet is terrible!!
I’ve lost 30lbs, since eating the Mediterranean way! Although my cholesterol was fine anyway, it dropped my points even lower! My liver enzymes lowered! My vitamin D level raised back up! Tell me that this diet is not healthy!! : )
