Recently i did a general comparison of the major “Diets” and i’ve found 2 things that impressed me:
1) People don’t interest to stay unhealthy and prefer loose weight fast
2) The major problems are weight maintenance for a long period
It’s amazing to see how much misinformation there is on the web and how the “New diets” promoters try to trick people…
There thousand of messages like: “Loose weight fast”…..”Only our foods are healthy”….and other marketese…
Someone change its face trying by transforming its communication strategy from “Bad fast foods” to “Healthy and fresh foods”…
You could arrive to reach your main goal (not loose weight but live healthy and better) by following simple principles with “zero cost” and “less hard work”….how to do it?
Let’s start by discovering what are the main foods and benefit of the Mediterranean diet
1) Dark green, red and orange veg. Some examples are:
- Blueberries with antioxidants and phytoflavinoids.
- Broccoli a rich source of the anti-cancer phytochemicals isothiocyanates.
- Carrots very rich in carotenoids and beta-carotene
- Tomatoes a great source of vitamin C and antioxidant properties which neutralize free radicals that can damage cells.
- Watermelon rich in the antioxidants vitamin C, lycopene and carotenoids including beta-carotene.
2) Fish (such as sardines, tuna, salmon, and mackerel) contains Omega-3, one of two essential fatty acids that our body cannot produce itself. Research shows that consumption of omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease
3) Olive oil protects against heart disease, Alzheimer’s risk, Colon Cancer, Skin cancer, Bowel Cancer, Breast Cancer, Blood Pressure, is a painkiller and help circulation. The main criticism on these food is that the Olive oil is calorie rich, so if you need to loose weight it’s better to consume max 3 spoons a day.
4) Red wine has a protective effect like reducing heart diseases and prevention of cancer due to the fact that contains more polyphenols.
5) Poultry is a good source of protein and contains selenium which helps to fight cancer cells and B vitamins which boost energy and protect the cardiovascular system.
6) Yogurt helps to boost the immune system by multiplying the “good” bacteria in the gut.
7) Garlic, a natural anti-bacterial that may repel mosquitoes.
Eating together these foods in a balanced diet associated with a life with less stress, drinking at least 6 glass of water, no smoking, sleep at least 8 hours a day and do 30 minutes of walking a day, can help you in:
- Sleep better
- Live longer
- Improve your immunity system
- Have a better sex :-)
