List of the best diet and weight loss forums and news-groups

Here a list of the best Diet Forums I’ve found on the net. I’m a registered user and I’ve verified how useful and updated they are. I tried to search for specific Mediterranean diet forums but I’ve found only sub-pages of a general diet and weight loss forum.

Forums are a great resource of information and can help people to find others with the same problems. So following a diet can be more easy when you have a community that support you.

You can ask for advices or see the other’s experiences. The best thing is that you can find people that have your same interests or problems. To join a forum you need to register before starting to contribute or ask questions.

  • Healthyweightforum This is a free, independent and open to everyone forum. They provide support, community, motivation, food information, articles, diet reviews and recipes.
  • Sofeminine This is a website oriented on Women that provides different forums. There are a lot of topics about diet and weight loss like: Health & Wellbeing, Dieting – A bit of weight to lose, Diet plans, Diet recipes, Overweight and obesity , Sport, Fitness & Exercise.
  • 3fatchicks This is a blog where find useful info about Low Carbohydrate Lifestyle, support, announcements, etc…
  • Ecademy A general health and well-being forum with a lot of categories.Try to post a question on the board and verify how informative it is.
  • Featherish Forum about Total Health and Weight Loss. The best thing of this forum is that has not too much categories and it’s concentrated in specific topics. So you can simply find what you need.
  • Lowcarbsite Atkins Diet, Low Carb Forum. The forum offers info and resource to accompanying you far all the weight loss process: Start, foods, and maintaining. There is a motivator section too.
  • Southbeach-diet-plan The forum is based on the south beach diet. It offers: South Beach Diet info and its phases, Share your experience and recipes, Health or medical issues, exercise, other types of diets, “before & after” or progress photos.

  • Gardenweb I’ve found useful information here but it’s not so easy to navigate and find topics. All the latest messages are list together.

  • Minimins General weight loss forum with a lot of interesting spots. The forum looks like very updated and seems to have a great community.

  • Diettalk Very nice, informative and updated forum. The forum offers polls, chats, calendars and latest news.

News groups:

Here a list of the best news groups. Consider that sometimes the information provide can’t be right. So before reading a newsgroup look if the newsgroup has a moderator.

Avoid after dinner snacks

The most dangerous time to destroy your weight loss efforts and diet is after the last meal of the day, when you lie down in front of the TV with a pack of chips or a box of crisps and biscuits. This is the time that you eat out of a habit, without really being hungry.

If you cannot resist the temptation of a small “sin” after a long day, obtain healthy snacks such as low-calorie cereal bars or ice cream without sugar and fat, and allow yourself to have one per day. When you get used to this try to further reduce the calorie load, with a cup of tea with no calories.
