<p>Dr. Oz believes the <strong>detox diet</strong> is essentially for a body to lose weight since it allows the body to be cleansed from dangerous toxins and have them flushed out of the body. Dr. Oz&#8217;s version of the detox diet doesn&#8217;t involve starving the body and includes foods like quinoa, kale, pineapple and various other fruit and vegetables to eat for 48 hours.</p>
<p>&#8220;<strong>The 17 Day Diet</strong>&#8221; is a book by Dr. Mike Moreno and is actually not promoted or encouraged by Dr. Oz. It consists of 4 different cycles of eating that are done in 17 days and people have shown rapid weight loss by following the weight plan exactly and is based around the concept of body confusion for weight loss.</p>
<p>Dr. Oz supports the belief of the <strong><a href="http://www.mediterraneanbook.com/lose-belly-fat/">belly fat diet</a></strong>. His thought is that there are certain foods that will make your belly flat and likewise certain foods that will make your belly fat. Foods that can make your belly flat include chocolate, peanut butter, and guacamole. But foods that can make your body fat are cheese, red wine, and margarine.<br />

<p>The Sonoma diet focuses on celebrating food and eating appropriate amounts of what is healthy, as opposed to focusing on avoiding certain foods. Developed by Connie Guttersen, it is based on the <strong><a href="http://www.mediterraneanbook.com/the-mediterranean-diet">Mediterranean diet</a></strong>. It is meant to be a very simple diet with no calorie counting. Portions are controlled instead with plate size. The diet features 10 &#8220;power foods,&#8221; chosen for their high nutritional content and depth of flavor.</p>
<p>This diet consists of <strong>three waves</strong>, the first wave being the most restrictive. During this wave, the portion sizes are the smallest of all the waves and the least number of foods is allowed. Sugar intake is also restricted. During wave two, different types of foods are introduced. The dieter stays on wave two until the desired weight is reached, and wave three is designed to be the maintenance wave, with the most wide range of foods being allowed, even including a sporadic dessert.<br />
